I will always remember my first Kit Model, it was a 1/72 P38 Lightning. I must have been 5 or 6 years old. I was amazed when I opened the box and the Plastic was in Army Green already.
A few years later I stopped building Kits, but never really lost my fascination for them. It’s only 2 or 3 years back, after I was married and owned a house that I bought a Kit again. A Tamiya Zero “Zeke”. The result was poor, mainly due to the lack of tools and space. I gave up on it.
It’s only last year after some major changes in the house that I decided to dedicated a part of the hobby room to Kit modelling. Let me tell you that the small part has grown to half of the room. I found what I missed, as I have more hobbies, work and a lovely wife it is very important to me that I can leave my “In Progress” Models as they are without having to store them away after I’m done with a session.
